The Ladies with Padded Seats want to thank Cheryl and Ron for having us in their stunning, clean, and extremely friendly Bed and Breakfast. The Coach house was amazing, well stocked, clean, with an incredible bathroom. Our hosts went above and beyond to welcome us and make
Our stay fun with filling delicious breakfasts and even helping pick up our dinner so we could squeeze in one more bike ride.
I highly recommend this little gem.

We arrived in a rainstorm to a welcome that felt like being welcomed by Mom. The arrival, while more than welcoming was contactless.
We went up to our room, which was the King Blue Room. It was elegance and romance, just what we were looking for.
Unfortunately, due to Covid, we were unable to enjoy the parlor which looked beautiful, nor the dining room, which was also beautiful, as these were being reserved for the smaller bedrooms as their dining areas.
Our room had a delightful table and seating area, where we were able to enjoy our delicious breakfasts. As well as playing games in the evening.
There is a lovely welcoming porch where we took our coffee before breakfast in the morning and enjoyed a glass of wine in the evening, all while enjoying the escapades of the hummingbirds and the resident cat.
Our three days in this wonderful establishment were made so by the charming Cheryl who is a wonderful host

Twin Peaks B&B is a country house surrounded by green fields, hanging baskets heavy with flowers, and lots of spots to relax with a book and cup of tea.

    THE COMMON SPACES:
The “red room” had big, soft velvety couches with matching curtains and a piano nestled against the wall. This felt like a civilized place to have a rest during the high heat of the day. The white lace room was light and airy, with a lovely dinner table and classic chandelier. Paired with the soft jazz playing in the background these touches made for a very genteel atmosphere.

The downstairs hallway also had a coffee and tea station with mugs and take away cups. There’s a Keurig coffee machine as well as a whole drawer of tea selections. There’s also a water dispenser with reverse osmosis filtered water if you want to fill take-away water bottles for hikes or cycling.

The upstairs hallway fridge has a small freezer with bags of ice for guests. The fridge has plastic bottles of water, apple and orange juice bottles and a carton of cream available.

    THE VERANDA
We spent most of our free time on the veranda. It’s bright and open, allowing a steady gentle breeze to carry the scent of lilacs and other flowers. The open green space of the yard, and the sound of hummingbirds, helped us get lost in our books and thoughts.

    BEDROOM:
We slept on a cozy Queen size bed with a comfortable mattress and big, high quality pillows. There was a small desk, a dresser, a space to hang our clothes and a small TV. There is a modern, window vented air conditioning unit which was very efficient, but not used much during our visit. We preferred to open the windows and let the fresh air and ceiling fan lull us to sleep. Do keep in mind that you’re in the country and there can be tiny, non-biting bugs (gnats, we think) that can get through the screen, so don’t open the windows if you have your room lights once the sun starts to set. (*Note: in the high heat of the summer we’d definitely run the AC, which was very efficient) We slept like babies every night of our stay.

The clean, well appointed bathroom had a really nice shower with plenty of hot water and fluffy towels.

Our room had a small fridge which made it easy to store food from the grocery store for picnics. And no one who knows us would be surprised to learn that it also kept our ciders, wine and bubbly nice and cold for when we needed to unwind from long, hard days of hiking! We were also provided with proper wine glasses, tumblers and an ice bucket.

    HOSTS
Ron and Cheryl were lovely hosts. She had great recommendations for places to eat and visit during our stay and is a great baker. For his part, Ron runs a first-rate B&B kitchen. They were warm and accommodating from the moment we arrived; by the second night it felt like we were staying with friends.

    BREAKFASTS
The breakfasts were amazing! There is always an egg dish on offer, with a sweeter option as well - and new choices every day of our stay. The poached eggs Ron makes were incredible. The waffles were crispy on the outside with a soft airy interior, served with a made from scratch strawberry sauce. The fresh fruit salad was always delicious, with grapes and berries among the array of fruit.

We were also treated to Cheryl’s freshly baked butter tarts as a treat - they were still warm when we got them. We dare you to name something better than a warm butter tart. It can’t be done.

    LOCATION
The B&B is located basically in the middle of the island, which is really handy since the island is so big. That puts many attractions about a 30 minute (one way) drive away.

    The only (very minor) downside:
The only thing we could say that wasn’t first rate is that the coffee wasn’t really to our taste. To be fair because we are pretty much one cup/day coffee drinkers we’re pretty picky (OK, really picky) about our coffee so others might find it perfectly enjoyable. For our stay we decided that we could enjoy a nice strong cup of tea with breakfast instead.
