  Nice atmosphere and service. We came here on a Fri night and they had a band playing which was fun. The drinks were delicious. The cranberry moscow mule was amazing. The food was just average. The calamari nicely fried and tasty but my wife didn't like the sweet/sugary flavour in it. I had the pulled pork sandwich which was fine and my wife had the seafood linguine which was very bland.

  The locals said this was the spot a d they were right! We just took a night tied up at the marina while sailing through the area and stumbled into the surly mermaid. The decor was amazing on many levels, from sticking with the mermaid theme to being modern and clean this establishment is suited for salty bearded sailors like myself as well as my conservative elderly father who is in his mid 60's.
  
  The staff were friendly and the service was great.
  
  The food was amazing as well. I don't think I will bother to venture past this place in search of delicious eats next time I visit Sydney.
  
  Thanks to all the wonderful staff from the service to the kitchen everything here was on point! Hope to see you guys again soon!

  Really enjoyed the ambience here and the location at the Port Sydney Marina. They have a broad selection of different styles of food for entrees that should appeal to most any appetite. Plenty of seafood and land based options. We enjoyed the delicious lamb shank and a black bean + yam quesadilla.

  I ordered salmon and chips which were battered in dark matter beer, which is also on tap. Delicious! Very clean comfortable quiet place, staff was very friendly. About half the restaurant has views of the Sidney harbour. Deep fried oysters were great too.

  Great place to grab a beer or a quick bite.
  The restaurant has a great view of the marina.
  Really good atmosphere. Kid friendly.
  They had some great vegan and plant based options. Service was good.

The Surly Mermaid is tied for first with Haro's on our list. This is a terrific restaurant in a great location - namely facing the marina. Burgers are among the best I've had but my favourite is the fish and chips.
