Charming restaurant with amazingly sweet and genuine Hungarian owner. -

(January 28, 2020, 10:37 pm)This is a nice local eatery. It serves home cooked meals at really affordable prices. You can eat in or take out. I recently had their schnitzel on a bun, it was huge and it was only $8.50 + tax.
My only complaint is that they aren’t open later. They close most days by 6pm. So if you come home one night and you don’t feel like cooking, I’m afraid the Lunchbox is not an option. Then your only option would be to grab it on your way home.
Nevertheless, it’s a great place for some Eastern European home cooking. -

(August 13, 2019, 8:18 pm)You'll be treated like family when visiting The Lunch Box. Owner Sarolta went above and beyond to accommodate my family from New York. She whipped up Authentic delicious Hungarian food served up quick, just like Mama's. We ordered schnitzel, chicken paprikash over nokedli, cabbage rolls, and a cucumber salad. Mmmm I highly recommend this stop if you're ever in the Lakeview (Ca) area.

(May 5, 2019, 5:50 pm)My place to go for lunch. Very fast and efficient service. Fantastic home made meals. Food is freshly made, unbelievably delicious and tasty. Goulash is mouthwatering. Hungarian food is the best. L❤️OVE IT.
