Very peaceful and clean beach. Loved it!
Had a wonderful hike even though there were several muddy spots but that made it even more fun. Then a swim at the beach afterwards mad a great day trip!
Pros:
I took my family here on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. This place is a great little spot for families because it offers a swimming area, play structure, shaded areas, benches/ picnic tables, and a pavilion. The swimming area is especially great for young children because it's sandy and shallow.
Cons:
Hibou charges $10 entrance, despite the advertised $6 on its website. I understand that paying money to access a spot like this is essential for preservation and maintenance of the area and its facilities, including the washrooms. BUT, the washrooms are CLOSED and instead, there is a porta potty in the parking lot for patrons to use. Unfortunately, the porta potty was almost full and made for a very unpleasant experience. I hope Hibou considers re-opening their washrooms or adding more porta potties to support the volume of patrons.
Basic beach with gradual slope with a great view. Nice trails and a playground make it a great place for kids.
A beautiful spot to take in a Georgian Bay sunrise
