(October 6, 2015, 9:23 pm)Fox Heating performed an "industry standard" priced WETT review of my existing wood stove installation. It failed, as likely will yours. My request to get a written report was ignored. It would have provided me the details I needed to address deficiencies myself, or to evaluate the fairness of its subsequent bid to provide a compliant installation. Such a report is supposed to be provided according to the sanctioning authority for these inspectors. I did not go further. Fox may be a great contractor, I'll never know.
Try to find a WETT inspector who will give you a free quote for any work he might deem necessary to achieve a compliant installation. The non-compliance of your installation will be visible to an inspector at a glance. I have since obtained another quote based on the same photos and information I provided Fox without a site visit, or paying for another inspection.
