It's a fantastic place. The hike is great, very challenging since its long and steep. I had no idea the first time I did the hike when I saw the mark 1/2 I almost wanted to cry.;)
I think if you make it under or around one hour you are in good shape. If you take your time it's almost possible for everyone, you will see kids and grandparents hiking together too.
The view up there is worth the effort.
The view, restaurant everything is awesome up there.
Don't forget that prices are high even for a water bottle, so take what you need with you if you don't like to spend.

Incredible views year round! The Bears are super cute! As for the ski resort, it's really well maintained, especially the terrain parks. They seem to change almost constantly which is nice, there's always something new to try. It's also really well connected to public transit! It's even an Evo home zone! The only downside is the queues to get up/down the mountain during busy times. It can take an hour to queue for the gondola

Good option for a night ride during the winter weeks. Gondola means you're not sitting in traffic like the other local mountains. Quality of the slopes is good for being so close. Prices on the hill are a bit much in the restaurants and cafes. Highly recommend the Y2Play for locals.

This mountain is spectacular. As a prairie girl, I can say that this was definitely one of the first mountains I experienced in more ways then just driving past. You can easily get to the base of the mountain via public transit and there is paid parking if you have driven as weĺl. The Gondola ride is a bit spooky although I am afraid of heights. Once on the top you forget that you're so high up. I find that most people aren't so amazed by the natural beauty here. As someone who didn't grow up around mountains I would definitely recommend this place to any visitor's. I have been there twice, it is very easy to spend a whole day here. You can go snowboarding, skiing or just take a general ride up and walk around, rent snow shoes, go sledding, ride this huge sleigh or go "skating". The ice rink is small but I can see its appeal if you're not used to it. There is a canteen with good food, a fancier restaurant that serves comfort food and several gift shops. All in all I would definitely recommend and I always take my visitors there!

Very beautiful at the top. Seeing the bear up close in a modified habitat is a great part of the attraction. There are shows which we don't all see but I have the sense that they are well incorporated with the place. I would have spent a good amount of time here

Grouse Mountain Resort - ChatterBlock

In those days, climbing Grouse Mountain was a three or four day epic journey - there was no bridge across Burrard Inlet and no road to the base. The hardy group of hikers slogged through snow, scrambled over rock and up through the dense forest. Blue Grouse were plentiful on the slopes and came to be the namesake of "Grouse Mountain".
