I love this place. The service is excellent and although the paint colours hurt my brain I always feel welcome and comfortable. The food is all amazing and oh so spicy. The best dishes we have found is the Dan Dan Noodles and the Spicy Wontons. Staff would not let us order over medium spice level haha and I do admit it was still very spicy!
The most authentic Szechuan food in Calgary. Their "low spice intensity" is still plenty spicy for me and delivers great flavor.
I love the food!!! The spicy fish and the spicy shredded potatoes are incredible. The staff is friendly! The only reason it is not a 5 star is the restaurant is a little dirty and the roof leaks depending on where you sit (if under skylight windows). But still I come back for take out because it's that delicious.
I was looking for Calgary's most authentic Szechuan restaurant, and this was what was recommended online. I really loved this place. To start, I was brought tea without having to ask. Then I wasn't sure what to order and the server recommended the spicy chicken with an order of steamed rice.
The food came and was delicious! The chicken came with a few veggies, peanuts and lots of hot peppers. The three levels of spice are mild, medium or traditional, I went with traditional. It was very spicy but also flavourful and the peanuts provided a tiny bit of balance.
While I was there someone getting takeout said the SAIT culinary program discusses the flavours in the dish I ordered. If you like heat, this is the place for you.
