Lopez Island Library

A fantastic little library. I was very impressed with the garden and landscaping. And, free wifi so I could watch the NBA Finals (phew! that was close). :-)

This is a fabulous village library with wonderfully friendly and helpful staff and volunteers, a pretty good selection of books and DVDs, plus video equipment and musical instruments to check out. They have a widescreen videoconferencing setup and meeting room to accommodate a dozen people or more. And they have rotating art displays from local artists that bring color and creativity to this airy renovated schoolhouse. When I'm looking for a quiet place to read, I'll settle by their big stone fireplace in one of their overstuffed lounge chairs (and occasionally fall asleep!). A very nice place to relax and read, and you only need ID and a local phone number for check out.
