My husband is an entomologist and he was studying bugs at the beach while we honeymooned here. We were both shocked to find dozens upon dozens of black widows near/on driftwood androcks as he looked for queen ants.(He majors in myrmicology and collects,studies queen ants) There was seriously a crazy amount we counted at least 30
Widows have a bad reputation but are incredibly timid. It was so cool to see so many, but because there aren't any warning signs, I fear it could be dangerous. Especially for children playing with driftwood or anyone sitting on driftwood. Have fun watching these cool spiders from afar.
Be very careful at this location and enjoy the view and nature!
