They were able to accommodate a large group at very short notice, the service was very attentive and they helped translate the menu for all of our English speakers. The food was very good and a great price for the quality.

We visited Le Jurancon two years ago and then in April 2018.
On our first visit, we stumbled upon the place for lunch. Our first impression was that it was very quaint and cozy. The owner (at least I think he was the owner) came to our table and profusely apologized immediately that his English was less than excellent. This of course was quite unnecessary as we were the only ones that were uni-lingual.

My wife ordered pasta and I the Casoulet. Immediately she had dish envy as even though her dish was very well prepared; mine was Amazing! One would think it had cooked for hours (maybe it did)!

On our latest visit, I had the lamb shank, and my wife had the cassoulet for dinner. The appetizer was an amazing escargot with blue cheese. The flavors of the cheese were subtle and married very well with the delicate escargot.
Again the owner welcomed us and apologized for his lack of English.
My wife doesn't like traditional dry wines and the owner recommended an amazing sweet wine from the region the restaurant was named (Jurancon). It was perfectly light and sweet!

As for the entrees, the only way I can describe them is that they are about as close to what I'd imagine one would get at a country French bistro as you could find in North America. The lamb shank fell off the bone as did the meats in the cassoulet...the flavors were excellent and I literally felt as if I were eating in someone's home instead of a restaurant!

Desert was an excellent pairing of vanilla creme brulee and dark chocolate mousse. To top this off, the owner gave us desert sparkling wine on the house that perfectly matched my wife's love of sweet wines!

As a final note, one can really tell the authenticity of a person by the way they treat their staff behind the scenes. As I left the bathroom I saw the owner singing in the back and joking with the young dishwasher. This sealed the deal for me and I can't recommend this restaurant enough! It's like going home, even if you don't speak the same language!

Great little French cuisine with good wine and beer selection. The entree and the main dish were excellent. But I find the lamb shank was lacking a bit flavor. In addition the duck was a little too chewery, perhaps undercooked?

I would definitely rate this a 5 stars, but I didn't like the creme brulee and the dessert either.
