Food is delicious and interesting. Service was slow the day I went but I've been told that's not typical.

The plating, beer selection and quality of food here was some of the best we’ve ever had. It was high quality food in a laid back setting. Leaving the restaurant with the best taste in our mouths. We will definitely be back. Highly recommend!!

We found Elizabeth Street Eatery only because we happened to drive by it. I’m so sad it’s been open for a year and we just found it now. The whole experience was fantastic! When I called for reservations, the owner/chef asked if we had any dietary restrictions. The chalk board menu is created daily and he shared that they’re happy to accommodate pretty much any dietary restriction. (We don’t have any but have friends who do and are always on the lookout for good places to send them). The server greeted us by name when we got there and we were excited to see a really varied menu. The beer and wine menu was also great and featured some of our favourite Ontsrio breweries that are hard to find beers from.
We started with a fantastic shrimp dish and then moved on to salmon and their Queen Elizabeth burger. The portions were perfect, the price was super reasonable for the quality of the food and while it’s a small place with low ceilings, it wasn’t noisy, even when it got busy. The service was quick and efficient without feeling rushed.
If you miss Delhi St Bistro, this should 100% be your new go-to place.

These people clearly care about food. Small chalkboard menu of fresh handmade seasonal dishes. Let them know and they'll create amazing vegetarian options too. Craft beer menu is way too big for such a small place. That's a good thing. We will be back.

Yesterday, we had the pleasure of dining at the Elizabeth Street Eatery. It's a bit off the beaten track, but well worth the effort to find! Chef/owner Joey Bornino and the lady serving greeted us warmly when we arrived and directed us to the menu board with the day's offerings. We chose seats near the kitchen opening so we could watch any action and looked around the room. Lots of windows letting in the sun, white walls with minimal decoration, it was clean, bright and comfortable. We picked two of the three appetizers from the board and weren't disappointed. Joey's creations are layered - just when you think you've pinned down the flavours, something else pops in to surprise you. Butternut squash soup, rich and creamy, then a pleasant burst of warmth in the back of your throat - what was that? Poppadoms with hummus, crisp, a hint of salt, garlicky, but then a little sweetness (garlic infused honey), a little earthiness (grated dried mushroom) and a dash of something lemony (sumac). It makes you slow down and really taste what you are eating. For entrees, salmon on a bed of peas and celeriac & fennel and rigatoni with short rib ragu were both flavourful and good portions. We finished with a baked cheesecake and strawberries preserved from last years harvest, coffee & tea, all excellent. Service during the meal was friendly and efficient and we particularly enjoyed chatting with Joey about his food philosophy, how he sources his ingredients (as much local produce as possible) and plans for new menu items based on seasonal availability. All around, can't remember when we've enjoyed a meal more and we're looking forward to returning to try out other dishes!
