The Grenadier Cafe

Great affordable breakfast and lunch joint in the heart of beautiful High Park. The seating is super expansive, with no shortage of outdoor deck seating and indoor seating (plenty of booths). There is a cafeteria style section (where you order up at the front) and a restaurant section (where a waiter/waitress comes and serves you). The waitstaff are super friendly and the food hits the spot. The price is good too as there are many breakfast options under $10. It can get busy during the summer, but there is plenty of seating so availability is usually not an issue.

A little awkward coming in at first, unsure of whether there's table service or a seat yourself restaurant, finally figured it out and ordered the grilled chicken club. Atmosphere and decor are what you'd expect from a cafe inside a park, but overall fairly welcoming and comfortable. The food was great, fries crispy on the outside and soft, loved the grilled chicken club, great taste. Free parking as well, a nice spot on a summer day.

Always perfect. Parking if early is easy. Both indoor and outdoor dining. Larger establishment thank it first appears to be. Can take a big group.

The cafe is situated in the park. So it's a good pit stop for a quick recharge while your out for a walk or cycling around the park. Food selection and taste is good for a cafe premise. Ambience is dull and dark in certain corners, but overall it's great when you sit and eat outdoors. Waiting queues are long as it seems only one cashier works at a time.
