I ordered this basket as a gift for a friend who had a medical event and her dog who had alerted the household to her situation and got her help. First, I paid for overnight shipping and the *first* package did not arrive for about a week, and with a different carrier than I had specified. A little annoying but these are weird times, and I’m still optimistic.
When the package arrives, it is missing the champagne and a fudge turtle cake I had added on. The cactus I ordered was an Aloe Vera plant that had been cut or broken off, and was packed at the bottom of the box, being crushed by other items. I notified the company and they quickly ordered a replacement cake, the champagne and a new plant.
They arrived today. Instead of a cake, it was brownies. They were packaged so poorly that all who saw it was doubled over in laughter. Mind you, I am told the brownies are quite tasty. We think they are homemade, which is nice, but I wish I could attach photos here...it is absolutely comical.
The plant is two teeny tiny plants that were put together. I think with all the SIP orders it is difficult to get plants right now, and all of the plants can be rehabbed and so ultimately she received three plants. As such, it is again very funny, but forgivable and probably worked out better than receiving one really presentable plant.
Champagne seems fine, it’s a pretty bottle! Dog treats and toy were all fine. Overall, we have had a lot of fun with this gifting misadventure and it has added some levity to this strange time. I might try ordering again, just for the intrigue...but probably not. If you want your gift to arrive on time and containing all of the items you ordered, looking professional and intact, this is not the company for you. If you like surprises and have time on your hands, you might have a great time buying from Mutts & Mousers.
I gave three stars because customer service was very responsive, but I really really don’t recommend them.
