  We have had to be away from home for the last several weeks, and like so many others have commented, we miss our bed!!
  
  I was searching for a simple, natural, healthy mattress, as well as a bed frame.  Between my husband and I, we couldn't find a bed we loved.  When I stumbled across a mention of Swiss Dream Beds on a forum somewhere, I couldn't believe it - I'd seen this type of mattress system before, but for over 10k!  These mattress systems were priced in the same range as a top of the line, latest tech, blah blah blah mattress.
  
  Frame: Turns out the owner's father is a carpenter and we sent a picture of a bed we liked with a whole list of specs that we would prefer (there were drawers involved).  The whole process was very smooth, Hendrik is amazing at calmly keeping everything clear and concise, and we couldn't believe how beautiful the bed was when it arrived!  The craftsmanship is unsurpassed, and there is not a flaw to be found.  It fit together beautifully well, with no metal parts, and the drawers are a dream.
  
  Mattress system: Let me say first: I LOVE this bed now.  The first week or so, my back hurt when I woke up.  Hendrik explained that this will happen when you switch from a bad mattress to a good one with better support.  Our old mattress really was a bit banana shaped in the middle, and his explanations made sense.  Once I'd been sleeping in it for a month, I found that for the first time I could remember, I was sleeping on my back and on my front, and comfortably.  I'd always needed to be a side sleeper to get comfortable and this was a game changer.  I also started sleeping mostly without a pillow because even a low one would throw my neck out of a straight line.  When i am on my side, i pull the small pillow back under my head again. But the bed keeps you so aligned, you have no need of a pillow lying on your back or on your stomach.  I am so much more comfortable when I sleep now.  My husband unfortunately works away from home a lot, so the long term is harder to identify for him - however, he's more rested and comfortable when he's at home than in other beds or our previous one.
  
  We highly recommend several aspects of this:
  -the mattress system itself
  -Hendrik's amazing service
  -the quality of the craftsmanship of whatever they build
  -and the sleep you get once you buy it!

  Hendrik was wonderful to work with and didn't mind my many questions over many months. It took me about a year to decide that this was what I really wanted. We got the size we needed and although it is a firm bed it is very nice. It is like a breath of fresh air in our bedroom.
  I had a heavy night sweat problem and needed a bed that would not mold. This bed meets that need. I would recommend this bed to anyone looking for a "clean" bed.

  Thank you for what you do! Being able to make a big important purchase that encompassed many of my values was such a blessing - good for the earth, good for the economy, good for my health, and good for my soul! The purchasing process was enjoyable, let alone stress-free, and the product is fantastic. We need more of these beds in the world :)

  Amazing beds and a fantastic client experience. A friend of ours recommended these beds after doing a lot of research on the best non toxic beds available with the support necessary to help with lower back pain. Hendrik was amazing and I love that this is a family business. They make a fantastic, high quality product and are very responsive. The bed set up is extremely easy. Our 8 year old daughter loves her bed and helped set it up as well. We also purchased on for ourselves and have never slept better. Definitely worth the investment.

  Great bed, very high quality product, exceptional customer service.
  
  At first I was hesitant to make such a large purchase sight unseen (I live in the Ottawa area), especially from a small company, but after the intense amount of research I did and the unbelievable customer service I received I was certain there was no risk involved. I have a Gmail email exchange with Hendrik that was split because it went over 100 emails. I had many questions and he was quick to respond to all of them, at all times of the day even. I learned some things that aren't even well advertised on the Swiss Dream Beds website:
  
  - the mattress is natural latex produced in the Netherlands by one of the most reputable manufacturers in the world, Vita (Radium)
  - the amazing wool topper is the same used in a similar European bedding system, beautiful living wool, and it's made in Switzerland!
  
  The frame itself is incredibly well made, and in Canada from beautiful Canadian wood! I'm particular with woodworking and it's really quite flawless.
  
  To be honest, the worst thing about Swiss Dream Beds is their website! The pictures could be better and the layout is confusing.
  
  We took the plunge and bought a king for us and a twin for my daughter. These beds are so cozy with some nice cotton sheets and a duvet, it's wonderful. The latex is oddly comfortable, soft and contouring but with a little bounce so you're never stuck. I can't say enough good things about this bed system. It's definitely a good price too, considering it comes with the frame and an expensive wool topper that negates the need for a separate protector.
