(February 11, 2018, 3:10 am)My mom is in for cancer surgery and Dr Danny, Dr.Lyn and their teams were fantastic volunteer Trudy from A148 waiting room was amazing. Mom's surgery was 11 hours so it was a very long day for all. Trudy kept us very informed. When Mom got into recovery she had the most wonderful nurse Carlie. Talk about caring for her patient and their family. Thank you Carlie we were able to go home knowing Mom was in great hands. The next morning we went in and Nurse Lindsay was looking after Mom again she had Mom's best interest at heart even though she came across very through and uncaring she looked after Mom and let us each go in to check on Mom and then we went home happy knowing once again Mom was in good hands. Thursday night my Dad went in to check on Mom and they were moving her to a ward D626. Dad left happy the Mom was being taken care of. My sister popped in before work to check on Mom on Friday (today) and Mom was upset she had wanted a drink through the night and no one responded to her . Mom had to use the washroom and called the nurse to no response again.my sister went and tried to talk to nurse Kat but nurse Kat could not be bothered even responding to my sister another nurse came and spoke to my sister then relayed the message to nurse Kat to which nurse Kat replied ya I know I will be there when I get there. Then she called someone else to come to Mom's aid. Nurse Kat does not fit in with the rest of the caring staff at this wonderful hospital. I would not be upset at all if she got fired or at the very least written up and reprimanded. I would have given a 5 star if not or nurse hatchett oh I mean Kat. I hope the rest of Mom's stay nurse hatchett is on days off or on another floor.
