Pros: mechanically the bike works much better. He is pleasant and does the work quickly.
Cons: price came to a lot more than I had been led to believe. There were lots of small items like housings that were not mentioned that jacked up the bill to $210. He installed “3 yr used” brake handles without telling me they were used and charged more for them than what I could get new ones from Amazon. After I discovered they were used, he told they were a better brand. He doesn’t keep many parts on hand.
Summary: get a written quote!! I feel cheated and won’t be back. If I had known the total cost, I would have put the money towards a new bike!!
Update: greatly appreciated the quick response to my review. Have accepted the $50 refund and love that he is going to implement a robust quotation process so that this doesn’t happen again.
