I took my first lessons with Denys in May 2017 at Cape Hatteras and stayed with the group for the whole season after that.

There's quite a big community around CKSS. On a good day, there are 10-20 people kiting together at the same spot. You can ask for advice or they'll tell you themselves if you are doing something wrong.

Denys runs a mailing list where people ask questions or post where they plan to kite. As a beginner, I found the list quite useful for figuring out where the best wind is on any given day. People sell their equipment on the list periodically and in my experience the deals are better than kijiji.

Can't wait for my second trip with this group. Last year Denys had me and a friend up and riding on our second day of learning. Very happy to be a part of this fun community.

Denys has been extremely supportive in helping myself and a friend get into the sport. We tried a school in Portugal (May2016-very commercialized) but made the most progress with Denys and his group during a trip to Hatteras (Oct2016). I can confidently state that ckss.ca is a great setup with amazing, very friendly/supportive society members. We are glad to be a part of it and recommend it for folks wanting to get into the sport.

Best place to get kiteboarding lessons! You'll be riding after just two lessons, no wasting time with trainer kites. Highly recommended if you're looking to get into the sport
