Bâton Rouge Steakhouse & Bar

We were staying next door at the Hilton tonight and decided to order Skip the Dishes from Baton Rouge. Considering the closures on dining locations, in York Region we thought this was our beat bet, despite it being steps away.

1.5 hours late our food had not yet arrived, so we decided to take a short walk over and see if we could pick the order up ourselves.

The manager, Alex, greeted us and we explained we had been waiting for our delivery and wanted to know if we could pick it up ourselves.

This is where this restaurant became an exception to the norm! Alex had our our order, and had too been waiting for the Skip the Dishes delivery to pick it up. He seated us in the rented area outside that had literally just been assembled (to accommodate guests under Covid restrictions), had the cook make our meal from scratch and served us a fantastic dinner.

Beyond this he contacted Skip the Dishes and advocated on our behalf for their terrible service.

The dinner was phenomenal, the service was excellent and the management proved itself to be top notch. Thank you Alex and your team for a fabulous dinner. You made our night!!

Lovely place, clean and cozy seating is available. Food is good.
2 complaints I have, no nice dark beers are available. Ontario makes few good ones.
And second, only sport in tv. Nobody is watching it.

Nice staff. Good food.
Everything served hot. The calamari is lightly seasoned (maybe a bit too light). The coating is a bit on the soft side, it would be great if they can improve the recipe of the coating and make it a bit more crispy.

The rib steak seasoned just right. It has nice grill marks and color on the outside yet the inside is cooked exactly what I want as medium rare.

Came for a birthday and they even gave us a complementary cheese cake dessert. The creme brule has a good portion, and the layer of caramelized sugar is just right. I like the taste that it is also not overly sweet.

Nice ambiance, excellent service

Appetizers amazing. Bacon wrapped scallops ordered off menu, Caesar salad.

White magic sangria delicious

Entries disappointing. Lobster ravioli was very "fishy", not the sweet meat expected. Prime rib was not melting in my mouth but rather chewy.
