Forks of the Credit Provincial Park

One of the first places I hiked in and still one of my favorites. Sadly, I remember the days when the parking was free! LOL Other than that, it has a great mixture of flat and slightly more rugged trails that meander around a beautiful Lake and also head down into the valley and to an impressive waterfall. Unfortunately , the trail is still blocked at the waterfall and does not allow one to complete the lower loop, but the trail around the lake does form an upper loop. Fairly easy and relaxed hiking. Great in all seasons.

Nice park, good for a day hike. The park connects with Bruce trail and the Cataract - Elora trail.
Great area for birds watching.
For people who likes to ride bicycles, Cataract-Elora trail is a smooth 42 km path.

My boyfriend and I went here over the summer to go mountain biking and we had a wonderful time! Despite going on a Saturday in the middle of the summer the park was not very crowded and there was lots of room to explore all of the different woodland trails! It is the perfect distance away from Toronto making Forks an excellent day trip during the summer. Overall the experience was very peaceful and it was lovely to get some fresh air away from the city during a hot summer. Would definitely recommend for a day trip! :-)

Myself and a friend decided to go for a winter hike to the falls. Very beautiful scenery and being the winter there were not alot of people. I understand it can be a very busy park in the summer. I'm no athlete but I'm in half decent shape but I want prepared for the challenges of hiking thorough snow although that might have shortened the experience but it was none the less an awesome outing. The only drawback was that they didn't plow from the road to the parking lot. Not a problem for my four wheel drive pickup but many people were parked on McLaren road.
