I love this school! Recommend????????
I don't particularily like this school, because the only air conditioned places are the office and the portables, but with the portables slowy being taken off the courtyard, soon the only ones with air conditioning will be the secretaries and student volunteers, and I don't believe that's fair. There have been many fundraisers for this school, but never for the sake of the building itself. The annual Dance-a-thon last year managed to get a lot of money. Of course, they didn't think to use it on the school's needs.
Looking on the brighter side of things, it's not like the teachers don't do their jobs. They teach. That's what they're supposed to do. I'm just kind of disappointed that you have to hope for a good teacher every year, since some teachers actually like to make you want to learn, whilst others just do their jobs at a decent level.
Another thing is "tribes". Starting in grade 1, students get their own special letter that sorts them into a group and they need to go to a certain classroom or portable for that group. That group stays together and you do some activities for the rest of the day. The problem is, you stay with that letter for the rest of your stay at Pine Grove. I've found that many people don't like their tribes and usually want to be in different ones, since they mostly don't know anyone in their tribe. Some kids just plain hate it and would rather be with their normal class. My suggestion is trying to change the students' tribes every year so there's more diversity. I can imagine that can be hard, though, since you'd have to keep track of several hundreds of kids.
That's my overall feedback for this school, sorry if it was unreasonably long.
edit: this review app is here for a reason and i understand how people felt about it, but i think my review was sensible and it was entirely my opinion. i'm sorry if it was too harsh, but i'm keeping the rating at 3 stars. thank you.
pine grove is a school that is fairly good and you would want to send your kids to but there are a few problems the building, there's no air conditioning, and ext. but there are good things too like the reasonably sized classrooms,the amazing new field,the amazing new gym floor but i could go on and on and on and on about the things that pine grove has to offer but all i have to say is that it is an amazing school and you should really send your kids there they will get a better future learning two different languages so thats all i have to say about pine grove i hope you read all of this and sincerely

So sad to see people who worked so hard to advance their education and then elect to devote themselves to the education of other people’s kids then be anonymously criticized by disgruntled individuals who lack the strength and courage to identify themselves. Educators today have a very difficult and challenging job that too often goes unappreciated. I know how hard the staff work and how devoted they are It’s important that the silent majority speak up now and ongoing to ensure that teachers and staff realize how much they are appreciated.
I have had a lot of experience with this school, and have never had a problem. The office staff is BEYOND amazing, the teachers are hit, and miss but that is everywhere. My child is very lucky to have two amazing teachers this year and really does enjoy attending this school. It is a very clean facility, and very welcoming. They do however need to fix the field which rumour is this is in the talks. Over all great job Pine Grove :)
