  This is probably a favourite in the area for breakfast. Go on a saturday morning and you will find the place is packed. This is because the food is plenty and the price is fair. They are always looking for line cooks too so if you want a job as a cook consider this place. If it's busy park across the street at the shopper drug mart place or in the tim hortons parking lot for a 2 minute walk of fresh country air.

  Our family loves The Hyland. Great homecooked diner food, friendly service, and a big menu with lots to choose from. The breakfasts are great, as are the burgers, souvlaki, salads, soups - haven't had anything but a good meal here. It can get very busy and parking can be tricky so time your visit well.

  Lot's of food at a reasonable cost. Daily specials are good.
  Don't particularly like the staff and the entrance way gets congested quickly, they leave you standing there way too long. Don't seem to have a host/hostess or a bus person, the servers have to do it all, as well as clean the washrooms. Therefore this leads me to think the owners are cheap!!! If they hired more people the service would be much better.

  I dropped in for my first ever visit here and the quickest way to describe it is, it's okay. Not great but not poor. Just a basic restaurant with okay service. A safe bet but not one that will impress either. The restaurant was clean, the menu basic but hearty and the atmosphere was not quite diner not quite restaurant. More like a fish and chips restaurant to me. Anyway, if you are looking for a good basic meal, try Hyland.

  This place is amazing!!! If you're looking for variety, friendly environment and great food then this is the place!! They changed their hours to late nights on weekends only but I still manage to make it there for lunch on occasion during the week. You won't be disappointed.
