I was in a car accident that happened in December and my car was a total write-off. My insurance company offered to pay me far less than the actual value of my car. I've used Harold a few times now for an appraisal as required by the Ministry for vehicles that are over 20 years old. Harold is very nice and easy to talk to. I got the appraisal done fast and was able to head back to the Ministry and get my car registered. If you need an appraisal to get your car registered, I would recommend Harold.

NEEDED AN APPRAISAL ASAP.
I went to a Service Ontario to change a vehicle ownership.
I had a Certification, Clean Air Certificate required on a resale, Insurance & Vehicle Package. Good to go right ? Wrong.
Took a number.
Waited in the line up about half an hour.
Handed all information to the clerk.
She announced to me that I need an appraisal...
Now required for a 20 year old vehicle or older is an appraisal !
Sorry but I was stunned. I also was delivering this car to a student in Ottawa the same day.
In the parking lot I looked up appraisals and gave Harold a call.
He listened to my dilemma and said if I could come over right away he could help. He was intending to go out but would wait.
He researched the car and gave a fair valuation.
My advice to anyone buying a 20 year old car or older.
Get the appraisal before doing the work for certification.
Government should not tax you for work you have to do to make vehicle pass the certification.
Yes the appraisal is what you pay tax on...
His price was very reasonable $50
