  Orono (village) bakery is the best bakery you will find anywhere. Period. And I grew up downtown Toronto surrounded by ethnic bakeries. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Everything awesome. I would easily pay triple for their caramel chocolate cake. Why cant I give them 6 stars? Check hours, closed some Mondays.

  One of my favorite speciality shops, with a huge variety of European treats and amazing breads, buns and pastries baked in-house.

  I work in Orono, thank god because that means I'm closer to the Village Bake Shop everyday! This Dutch bakery offers elicious desserts and the friendliest of service. If you're looking for apple fritters this is THE place, honestly it's all great.

  A quaint store in the middle of old town Orono. If it is genuine Dutch products you wish, it will be there. Authentic gifts and memorabilia are there as well. Not much else than Dutch fare though. Crib the unhealthy to the healthy. It is there. The bakery is the best, a bit pricey, especially for penny pinchy Dutch like myself, but excellent quality. The music that was playing while we were there left something to be desired, hard Rock is not what I expected, even played softly at it was. With the 20 minutes of driving from the 401 of passing by.
