Pilgrim's Landing Cottages

The owner is a nice chatty fellow that gives helpful tips and points you in the right direction. The cottages are basic but quiet and comfy.

We went to this place for the price, location and host...and were overwhelm and had a great time. Booking is somewhat old school, he tracks his cottages on a hand full of wall calendars, so don't expect any gadgety booking system here. saying that I spoke to the man on the phone, booked the place from England and paid cash when we got there, no issues whatsoever. If anything, more straight forward as there is no nonsense half-witted insecure payment portal (and yes there are loads of those)!

Anyhow, The place is not exactly Taj mahal (i.e. no AC, shared shower for some cottages) , but Eric ensures you have a great time during your stay. He has a great local knowledge and can tell you best spots to visit and a fantastic person to keep company with, superb musician and has a refreshing philosophy towards life.

So if you are up for a cottaging experience where you are not just a number, you have to visit Pilgrimslanding.

Would definitely come back.

-You can moor your boat (for a charge I presume) on the front deck which is calm waters connected to the West lake and Ontario lake
-Free parking onsite
-Free Sandbanks pass(subject to availability) which grants your access to provencial park and sandy beaches 20 minutes drive
-Outdoor fireplaces (Woodfire mostly provided)
-There are few BBQs with full tanks of propane gas ready for your use along with a bbq kit
-There's a canoe which can be used(not abused) by guests
-There's a Foodland grocery store under a 1km away which has all you need.
-A bakery right across the street where we got daily fresh bread from, and a dollar store for beach toys, toiletries and knick knacks.
-A convenience store (with great ice cream) round the corner
-Some 30-35 Vin yards in the area
-Farm shops within the vicinity.
-A LCBO and a good cafe next door within 5 minutes drive west

Visited Aug 2015, 6 of us stayed in SANDBANKS Cottage for 3 days.

Great host, beautiful location.
