I went to Mentor from grade 3 through 12 and I credit the school and the teachers with playing a key role in who I am today. I'm currently in my 4th year of mechanical engineering at the University of Toronto. Mentor prepared me well for university by developing my technical skills through challenging academic and AP courses as well as soft skills, such as public speaking, through mandatory speech nights. It has great extra-curricular activities and a strong sense of community within the school. I still keep in touch with many of the teachers today!

As an engineering student, the only thing I wish there was more of was practical projects in the science classes that involved more building and testing rather than theory.

I graduated from Mentor College in 2017 and all I can say is that Mentor prepares you in ways that most schools simply do not. I am currently studying Software Engineering with a specialization in machine learning with a minor in management at McGill university, and as tough as that sounds, Mentor prepared me with the necessary skills I needed to survive in such an interesting program. The teachers at Mentor care enormously, and while there are some really wonderful and nice teachers, there are also the ones that show tough love, that incredible tough love that has shaped who I am today. So for whomever is reading this, what makes Mentor such a unique school is one: the teachers are indisputably incredible in both the work they do and the way they care for their students and two: the variety of course offerings available, giving students an extremely broad understanding of the future they might want to pursue. Thank you, Mentor, for putting me on the path I am on today!

I went to Mentor College from grades 1-12 and had a great experience. They have wonderful programs for academics, athletics, and the arts. My favourite part was their music program and overall arts programs. If I did not stay here for high school, I would not have gone into music for my post secondary education, which is now my passion and future career. The faculty and students are fantastic. I would highly recommend Mentor College.

I'm just about to graduate from the University of Waterloo with a degree in Life Physics and Mentor did a fantastic job at preparing me for my first year of university. I can't speak for those that are interested in an Arts major because during high school I focused on the sciences, but if you are interested in going to university to complete Bachelor of Science (or a related field) you'll definitely feel prepared. I'm rating the school 4/5 because I found there was a lack of hands on learning and is something I would have greatly appreciated during my first year labs, but we did have plenty of practice writing lab reports during high school which certainly helped. Other than that, teaching was high quality and I really felt connected with my teachers. The amount of sports teams / clubs that were offered was great as well, I participated in almost any sport you could think of (skiing, hockey, soccer, rugby, track and field, soccer, archery, and basketball). Graduating from Mentor was bittersweet because I truly did enjoy my time there but was excited to continue into university.

I attended Mentor College from Grade 2 to Grade 12 and took two summer courses there. Having experienced every division the school has to offer, I can confidently say that the school’s community is truly a special one. I have fond memories of primary and middle school; my teachers made learning so fun, and they really cared about me and my class. As for high school, I find myself often silently thanking my teachers for preparing me for university the way they did. As an English student at Western University, I find that the high standards instilled in me from my years at Mentor have resulted in higher quality work and a true love of learning that has enhanced my university experience. Between its exceptional teachers, extensive extracurricular offerings, and experiential learning opportunities, I can’t say enough good things about this place!
