  On Saturday, December 22, my 71 year old sister and I were visiting friends and family in Ottawa. The transaxle shift cable in my 2008 Pontiac failed. As it was the weekend before Xmas, parts suppliers were all but closed. Tim Donis, owner of Ottawa Transmission, came to our rescue by creating a replacement part at a reasonable price and we were able to drive safely back to Toronto. Tim was our 'angel' at a time of stress! Many thanks Tim. Rick A.

  Tim is a very good mechanic and old school, i.e. you look Tim in the eye and get an honest answer from the man doing the job. I wish I could say he was cheap but still he was worth every penny charged. Would recommend him, for most jobs. BTW Tim rebuilt my 1985 benz tranny = parts were a pain to get so it took way too long but that was not Tim's fault. Tim actually went over and above in certain aspects of the job. All of it was truly appreciated Sincerely Kent

  Repair was performed in less than 1 week. He showed me exactly what parts were worn and broken. He was very friendly and shows and interest and knowledge in the job. Has many certifications. The repair was done correctly and will likely last (1200km after right now). Cost about the same as other larger shops. I highly recommend to anyone needing gear work done.

  Best mechanic I've ever had and I've had many! Tim Donis at Ottawa Transmission is an all-round car mechanic who's willing to take on just about any aspect of car maintenance and I've thrown a lot at him over the 7 years I've been going there. He's honest, hard-working, reliable, has tons of integrity and will do his best to get your car repaired at a fair and honest cost. He's saved me lost of money over the years by fixing things that didn't have to be replaced. He's a no-BS kind of guy who stands by his work and will deal with you straight. He's rebuilt my transmission and differential, and done every other car-repair job that's needed doing, from tune-ups, to undercoating, minor bodywork, suspension, timing belts, water pumps, brake lines, gas lines, shifter cables, etc.

  Tim rebuilt my truck differential. He took his time to check that every component around it would hold up and advised me well. I was going in thinking everything would need to be replaced but his knowledge, attention to details and honesty made me save on parts. There is definitely no better mechanic in town!
