Beautiful furniture, but the staff followed us very closely and made us too uncomfortable to discuss the pieces. We left.
The plaza itself is odd, but the store is pretty fantastic. Staff are knowledgeable and nice (not pushy or annoying) while the pieces range from more simple or more decorative and all functional. They carry many Canadian pieces and their prices are quite reasonable. They also have another location on Bank St (a bit of bigger space I understand).
UPDATE: We've completed our dining room with chairs, table, and light. The final product is beautiful and we have received so many compliments on everything, especially the 2 Loons table (walnut). We've had the chairs for 7 months and since we sit at our table for meals, work, and socializing, they are still in great condition. We had a small manufacturers defect in one chair after a few months and it was replaced within days without question.
I can't say enough good about this store. Haig is down to earth and knows his product. The selection of unique item and the quality of the product is exactly why you come to this store. And after sales service is what sets this store apart from all others.
I just moved from Amsterdam, i visited many of the furniture stores in ottawa. mikaza was the store i chose to furnish my whole house. Their products are made the same way back home and their attention to detail and design is very European.
My wife and I purchased an Oslo sofa from Mikaza about a year ago.
We are writing the review now because our last sofa was falling apart within a year.
Our Oslo is standing strong, the foam cushions still feel as it did day 1, and we only get compliments on the sofa. We’ll be back to add to our new home soon!
Thanks
