(July 13, 2018, 12:21 am)Four decades ago, William Hansen, a danish-trained mason by trade and now retired from his ottawa-based construction business steered his knowledge and love of working with the medium of concrete to the production of hand-made garden ornaments.
With an eclectic taste, his interests ranged from the more whimsical garden figures to the more interesting and difficult to find, from gnomes to frogs to dragons.
Over time, the collection expanded to include the classics with hundreds of years of style shown in grecian urns and romanesque statuary to more contemporary designs from australasia.
Today, the family tradition continues with his son Allan running the business with yet another generation, Allan's son and William's grandson Kyle. -
