(June 9, 2021, 1:54 am)We had a great experience going through the locks from Lock 7 to lock 1 and back again. The staff were courteous and called ahead to the next locks so they could be prepped for us to keep us moving. Great experience, can't wait til our next trip.

(June 5, 2021, 8:43 pm)Watching boats go through the locks is so peaceful and relaxing. It takes about 15 minutes for a boat to get from one side to the other, including the swinging of the bridge, at this lock.
The Parks Canada staff are friendly and knowledgeable. There are shade trees to sit under next to the lock, and ice cream on the south west side of the lock. Also on the southwest side of ample parking. Some people fish here, because the water turbulence from the gravity-fed lock stirs up fish food, and therefore fish. Or so I'm told. I usually only catch a sunburn if I fish 😆😉.
This lock is only minutes from amenities and other cool places! -
