(May 10, 2019, 4:36 pm)I’m an avid thrift shopper both because paying retail is not worth it to me and because we produce so much new stuff when there’s so much already made we can use that it’s really environmentally harmful. I’ve been very frustrated by the huge rise in prices in thrift stores over the last number of years because of resellers. Sometimes the prices are near retail at chain thrift stores! All I want is to sustainably and frugally dress and entertain my family. I switched from Value Village to Missions for a long time and found that they were also falling into the same trap of charging a lot more for potentially resellable or trendy items. Which was sad for me because I loved supporting their cause while taking care of my family.
I was so happy to walk in to The Giving Closet today. The vibe is amazing. Kids books for 50c! Quality stuff. It was clean. It wasn’t so busy that I felt overwhelmed but there were people who were obviously regulars there talking about their love for the place. I can see why. It’ll be my go-to thrift store (and place to donate) from now on, for sure. -

Furniture, decor, housewares, books, toys, clothing, cds they have it all. Furniture & housewares priced very reasonably. Some clothing i found pricey, but over all cheaper than VV.
Well organized, friendly & helpful volunteers.
I go often, stock changes constantly.
Its about time Crown Point had a thrift store. -

(March 6, 2019, 9:33 pm)There is ample parking space whilst the staff inside are courteous & very helpful. There is an extensive range of reasonably priced products. I highly recommend this thrift store considering they support charities in the local community.

(February 25, 2019, 6:06 am)A great little thrift store! Furniture, books, and movies on the main floor. Clothes, toys, housewares, electronics, shoes, jewellery, and seasonal stuff on the second floor.
Well priced out items. The volunteers are welcoming, helpful, and friendly.
