  Tried site 72 for the first time. Even though it's a 30 Amp site, the site breaker tripped 6 times though we were only using 12.5 watts running a small heater. Nice park, with some very large sites if required. Lots of trees. They have five underground tanks for dumping gray/black water, but all were full except for one. When we left on the Monday of Thanksgiving weekend, we were lucky to get in the line when we did. Some people were told to keep your receipt and come back Tuesday. NO! Grumbles from the crowd, people have travelled from many miles away, and had to go back to work the next day. Valens needs invest in repairs, and plan better for long weekends.

  Beautiful beach and beautiful sand! The washrooms were surprisingly clean and very well maintained. Love all the amenities of this beautiful Conservation Area.

  My husband and I had a wonderful time camping over this past labour day weekend 2018. Valens has beautiful walking trails and it was wonderful to canoe around the lake. We attempted to fish, but didn't have any luck catching anything over 3 inches long (large mouth bass) and from what we saw everyone else was having the same luck. We had fun anyway. Our only complaint was the dumping stations. We left our site at 12noon on labour day and found that all 4 of the dumping stations close to the park exit where full and overflowing. We turned around and went back into the park to the dumping station behind the store only to find that there wasn't a clean water rinsing station after dumping and there was only room left for us to dump. It too was overflowing when we were done. We left with a large lineup behind us and felling sorry for all those campers. It would have been nice if the campground would have made sure all of those dumping stations had of been empty for the campers at the end of a long weekend.

  Camping grounds and sites are great. Washroom facilities are good. Nice beach and family swimming area. Although it's radio free, many campers still play music. There is a train track nearby which is a nuisance if this type of noise bothers you. Overall would definitely come back and recommend.
