Kegel Heating & Cooling

In 2014 we built on Percy Lake and had a local Heating and Cooling contractor install an expensive lake loop geothermal heating system. With our frustration and stress levels climbing over the years, as a result of mechanical and system design issues, no response to many emails, texts and voicemails, we decided enough was enough. Life is too short.

We were so fortunate to have come across Kegel Heating and Cooling and in particular Tim and Kieran. Through their perseverance and methodical process off elimination and of course some $$, they were able to develop a game plan to sort out our system. With 9 thermostats replaced, a circulating pump resized, wiring changed, piping changed, freon leaks fixed, pressure switches replaced, Kegel Heating and Cooling has now given us the system we should have had from the initial install.

We can now honestly say we are, enjoying our 'first' heating season with not having to worry about the next failure, enjoying even heating throughout the cottage and also enjoying a much quiet unit with uninterrupted sleep patterns.

It was the professional, knowledgeable and dedicated service both Tim and Kieran provided until the problem was solved that made the difference between having a mediocre versus superior system. It's never easy taking someone else's issues and re-engineering them to get to the heart of the problem. Thanks guys for being there for us.

Good food a little slow sometimes but worth the wait

After working with Kegel Heating and Cooling this past year to replace my gas fireplace fan and connect it to a Nest thermostat, I can't say enough about how professional, prompt and caring this company is. While the Nest thermostat modification had some wrinkles, I could count on Tim Kegel's staff to correct the problem and inform me how to avoid future problems. I look forward to depending on Kegel for any future heating and cooling needs I have at my cottage. Well done!!

We had a propane boiler system installed 4 years ago that got progressively worse. When the installer attempted to address the problem the final time, the upstairs of our house went to 16 degrees .... so I called Kegel for a second opinion. Tim came over almost immediately arriving at around 7pm. He discovered the primary cause and sent a technician the following day to study the issue in detail. In less than 24 hours they were able to show me manual adjustments to the old system that I needed to make daily to keep the house above 19 degrees. Within a couple of weeks, Kegel sent in Kieran and his team to replace the system with something properly sized and properly plumbed for our radiant floor system. It works great and we have had a followup call from Kieran to check on the status. The system works so well that we are able to reduce the heat at night and raise it at 5am so the house is warm again by the time we get up. The pumps no longer run 24 hours, the temperature inside reaches 20+ degrees quickly and the boiler does not cycle continuously. I fully expect to see my hydro bill and my propane bill go down as a result of the pumps and boiler no longer having to work non stop. I would recommend Kegel to anyone who wants it done right the first time!
