    My experiences as a student of Hanna Back’s Workshops:
    I have been attending Hanna’s yoga workshops for the past 4 years, and I am very pleased with what I have learned and how I have improved my health.
    Her instruction is both warm and professional, encompassing the physical awareness as well as the mind/spirit connection.
    We all have some kind of body issue, and my main one is my feet. I was diagnosed with severe planar fasciitis. Very flat feet! I was advised by a podiatrist to never walk without wearing my custom-made orthotics in my shoes or I could cause permanent damage. However, I have since learned from Hanna, that the feet can be, with gradual care, strengthened so that orthotics are not always necessary. I can now cross-country ski again and wear a lighter shoe (with-out the heavy insoles) and not have foot pain.
    Hanna has also taught us how to do squats safely…something that I have not been able to do since my 30’s…I am now in my early 60’s.
    These 2 improvements have made my lower body stronger and have improved my balance, allowing potential to do more activities.
    I am also learning the benefits of breathing exercises to calm the mind and improve sleep.
    I highly recommend Hanna Back

    A friend asked if I wanted to attend a yoga class with her. When I did, I was quite impressed. I was hoping for a nice way to exercise and relax. Hanna offers much more.
    Hanna walks you through all the movements to ensure you are performing them correctly and provides the anatomy knowledge to complete the understanding. Her personal approach and understanding of each of her yogini’s ensure each person in the class performs the movements within their own limitations. Mindfulness is also a large part of her teachings. Meditation and quieting of the mind are also part of the program.
    I have been attending for almost a year now. Physically I am more flexible and have a better awareness of my own body. I am now able to quiet my mind and relax through meditation.

    I have been attending yoga classes with Hanna for 15 years and it continues to be my favourite part of the week! Yoga with Hanna has kept me physically strong and flexible while teaching me greater self-awareness. I have learned breathing and meditation skills that enable me to manage pain caused by rheumatoid arthritis and helped me cope with anxiety and depression. Hanna challenges her students with new poses and techniques while honouring their diverse needs and physical abilities. I highly recommend working with Hanna Back.

    Hanna Back has many years of experience teaching yoga. Her yoga style has always been attention to detail and to the needs of each and every student in her class. I have experienced many yoga teachers and Hanna has to be one of the most compassionate and caring individuals I have ever met. She listens attentively and never pushes the student past their limit.
    Over the years, Hanna has evolved her teaching style to be based more on functional and therapeutic yoga movement with the inclusion of yoga mudras, yoga philosophy, meditation, pranayama, anatomy visuals and more.
    As a Yoga Therapist, Hanna is perfectly suited to teach students on a one on one or small class basis.
