Watson's Bistro has everything you could want from a restaurant. Very tasty home cooked meals, great service and a super inviting atmosphere. And the desserts.......!

Watson's Bistro deserves a six star rating, but Google has limited me to five. ???? We visited for breakfast on a snowy Friday morning, arriving seconds after opening. The greeting we received was warm and friendly. The tables have beautiful benches made from massive slices of raw edge wood, providing room to spread out, and get comfortable. There are also chairs. The space is small, but fully accessible for anyone with a mobility impairment. The menu is short, but every item on it is familiar and comforting, family friendly fare.

We had bacon and scrambled eggs. The eggs were well mixed and cooked just right. Bacon was crisp. Toast was generously buttered. The home fries were excellent - cut like thick potato chips, not greasy, with just the right amount of seasoning. Johnny, the owner, told us a little about the history of the business, and checked on us regularly throughout the meal.

We had read about the great baking, so we bought a date square and butter tarts to go. Both were very, very good, and not overly sweet. They are huge - suitable for sharing, except so good you won't want to share! The raisin butter tart was the best I have ever had, with a very generous amount of filling, and lots and lots of raisins.

Watson's sells their dinners - things like Shepherd's Pie and Lasagna and Meat Loaf and Pot Pies - as frozen meals to go. We are looking forward to picking some up when we go back for lunch. Johnny has more than 45 years of experience in the restaurant industry, and that experience is clearly shown in the quality of his hospitality and the food he serves. Watson's Bistro is a fabulous find and well worth the short drive from downtown Kingston to Eastview!

Great local vibe. Fish and chips was excellent. My friend had the Reuben sandwich and thoroughly enjoyed it. I'm very much looking forward to returning!
