Final Coat Drywall

My experience with Andrew Archer mirrors those detailed by Chucky and Dawna's Google Reviews; he took my 40% materials deposit ($6,468) and then proceeded to give me excuses for not showing up to do the work. After repeated no-shows and more excuses, I couldn't afford to have my project sit at a standstill any longer. I hired Pereira Bros and they've done an outstanding job with absolutely no issues. When I asked them about Andrew's reasons for not doing the work (the main one being not having a hydro connection for the first few days, and having to use a generator), they laughed and said he's building a local reputation as a scam artist. He might have done actual work years ago, but if you check his recent reviews within the past year or two, he appears to be collecting 40% deposits and then delaying indefinitely. Even their mutual supplier (FBM, Foundation Building Materials) is aware of how sketchy he is and won't fulfill his orders without cash up front. As others have said, make sure you look up Final Coat Drywall on Better Business Bureau and see all the complaints before sending any money, because you won't see that money again nor will any work happen. To date, Andrew Archer refuses to return my $6,468 materials deposit. He insists that it's his to keep for "material booking and organization." He also sent me a screenshot about sellers being able to keep deposits if "the consumer refuses to carry through with the transaction", saying he's actually "out $9,000 on (my) project, but thousands of dollars on other projects" presumably for having scheduled my project. I knew I was dealing with a scam artist when, over the phone, I asked him for the deposit back and he said, triumphantly, "Show me the invoice!" It's true, Andrew never sent an actual invoice, and I now realize that this is part of his strategy for defrauding people. I deeply regret having ever sent money to this person, and sincerely hope my review discourages anyone from being temped by his lowball estimates. To echo his other victims, "I should have done my homework."

I am absolutely thrilled with the work that Andrew has done. Andrew is very friendly and his professionalism and attention to detail cannot be beat. I have had previous experiences with other drywall companies in the Kingston area and Final Coat was by far the best. I cannot recommend Final Coat Drywall enough.

It was an absolute pleasure to have them do the mudding and taping in my home. The lowest price that nobody else could come close to matching, and attention to detail that demonstrates their ability is second to none.

I will be using them for any work I have in the future.

We hired Andrew and his team to drywall our 1,000sq.ft basement. It only took 7 business days to finish the job from start to finish (and likely would have been quicker without the COVID restrictions and some weather issues). Overall would highly recommend Final Coat Drywall for any project!

I had a bedroom ceiling with an ugly stucco finish and as if that wasn’t enough, a very bad patch job (done by myself) from a foot coming through the ceiling while I was up in the attic.
I contacted Final Coat Drywall for a quote and Andrew was prompt, professional, and courteous.
The job was completed today and it looks superb! I will definitely be getting Final Coat Drywall to complete the rest of the bedrooms in the near future and highly recommend Andrew.
