(September 6, 2017, 10:06 pm)My wife has visited Sugar Woods before, and so we went over during a recent trip to Wolfe Island. Hank Connell and his son Eric are working tirelessly to provide a tough and tasty wine grape to the area. Working with the Frontenac grape and more recently a varietal called Marquette, they are assessing performance in the field, not in a laboratory. Their result is an easy-to-propagate varietal that produces a full bodied complex wine that has great promise. They gave us a tour during a busy time of the season and answered all of our questions I great detail. I enjoyed the visit very much.
