  Called him on New Years Eve. He was VERY patient with me over the phone. Suggested simple solutions to my problem and put my mind at ease free of charge. Honest and humble.

  Two baseboard heaters in my lower rec room stopped working during a recent cold spell. As this was the primary source of heat for the lower part of my house I was desperate to find an electrician to fix this problem. I called 5 different electrical companies, which I found via Google, and took a chance on Barrett Electric - and I’m very glad I did. Jim was able to come later that day to assess the problem and found that the thermostat that controlled the heat for both of my 45 year old heaters was beyond repair. He figured the only solution was for me to buy two new baseboard heaters and he would come back the next day and install them. I agreed with this plan of action.
  
  Later that same evening, Jim phoned with another idea that would save me some money. Instead of buying two new heating units he said he would rewire the existing heaters and connect them to a new wall-mounted thermostat. This new plan would save me almost $200. He arrived the next evening as scheduled and completed this job very professionally. That night the temperature dipped to an unseasonably frigid -14C and my old heaters worked perfectly.
  
  Not only was I very satisfied with the work Jim completed, I was also very pleased that Jim had taken the time to call me back after his first visit to my home to tell me about his new money-saving solution to my problem. That was very thoughtful of him to do so and I really appreciated his efforts on my behalf.

  James was able to show up the day after I called and fixed the problem with my circuit breaker and outlets within minutes. Since I'd paid for the first hour he also fixed the wiring in one of our ceiling fans and installed a phone outlet. Outstanding service. Highly recommended!

  I call two electricians before I call Jim they could not fix my problem but Jim not only find the problem but fix too
