  This property is stunning and the staff are amazing. Our family recently attended a Barbeque lunch here and it was wonderful. The staff were warm, welcoming and attentive. No request was too much! The head chef here is so talented and it's always like dining at a top restaurant, yet with the warmth of home. The grounds are beautiful, well maintained and everything is so clean. Our family member just loves being part of this community. I can't recommend this place enough!

  My mother has lived at Traditions for 3 1/2 years. I had many hopes and expectations of her quality of life in a retirement home when we were deciding where she would spend her later years. Traditions has met and well exceeded those expectations!
  Her favourite place to be is in the beautiful wooded setting of the backyard patio. She has spent many hours there enjoying time chatting with other residents, listening to the birds and watching the squirrels. It is so relaxing.
  I can't say enough about the loving, caring and thoughtful staff who all give such personal attention. They call the residents by name and they don't hesitate to offer extra assistance.
  In the dining room and kitchen they are very aware of everyone's special diets, state of health, likes and dislikes. The meals, with many choices, are delicious and well presented. I so often wish that I could just sit down and eat there!
  The management, the front desk staff, the recreational staff, the nurses and the cleaning and maintenance staff are all so caring and efficient, and willing to help with a smile in any way that they can. My mother has had a few health challenges since moving in and I can't say enough about the care that she has been given. We are so grateful to everyone at Traditions, including the residents, who are like a family and are very supportive of each other.

  I had the pleasure of visiting Traditions of Durham for their annual Health Fair. This was a great opportunity to learn about the variety of services available for seniors. The staff and residents were very welcoming along with all the vendors! The building is very beautiful and well taken care of, it definitely gives you that home feeling when you walk in. Thank you Traditions of Durham!

  We just attended the Swing into Spring buffet at Traditions of Durham Retirement Residence. What an amazing day… the food was absolutely incredible, especially the wide range of homemade desserts. This is the third buffet that we have attended and it keeps getting better every time. My parents have always raved about the food, so we are very lucky to get a chance to experience it from time to time when they hold a buffet for a special event. I think it is fair to say that they probably have the best food this side of Toronto.
  
  But the food is not even the best part… it’s the warm and friendly faces from all of the staff. They are always so eager to help and make anyone and everyone feel right at home. I can see why my parents love it so much.
  
  And the view, I have to mention the view. Their backyard is an outdoor oasis, so green and spacious and adorn with every flower imaginable; I can’t wait to go back in a few weeks when everything is in bloom.
  
  But having to move my parents into a Retirement Home was not an easy decision, and the team at Traditions completely understood our apprehension. Their empathy and support gave us the confidence that this was the best decision, and we have never looked back.
  
  I know my parents call it home, and whenever we come to visit we feel like it’s home too.
