(November 23, 2020, 9:56 pm)I spent a few hours on the Internet searching for a simple twin solid wood bed with under-bed drawers.
Through a local dealer in Montréal (Futon d'Or), I discovered the products from Crate Designs. I phoned the company and emailed them for further clarification on their products; customer service was very knowledgeable and responsive.
The variety of products available is impressive.
I finally bought the Youth Low Profile Bed. Twin Size with the 3 Drawer under-bed Unit and 3 extra slats.
The dealer had mentioned a 2 month delay but the bed was delivered one month after my order.
What I like about the product:
- very easy assembly
- solid wood makes a strong assembly, as opposed to Ikea presswood.
- the slats are very wide (5.25 in), making for a solid base, with only 1 in. between each slat. No knots in the pine slats to weaken the slat.
I am sure my grandchildren will be using this bed for a few decades due to its solid construction. -

They are a quality product that stand up very well to hard use by thousands of kids through the year.
The company is great to deal with. The staff are pleasant, very helpful and prompt with any information needed.
I have no trouble recommending Crate Designs and their products.

Crate design was an absolute pleasure to deal with! Easy process, great delivery and exceptional customer service! I cannot wait for future opportunities to shop with them!
