(April 2, 2021, 5:15 pm)The road was horrendous. Some of us were able to make it the office, others had to abandon their vehicles down the mountain. We had to be taken to our chalet in the maintenance truck. They definitely should have closed the chalets. If we had known prior to arriving the state of the roads we would have cancelled and gone somewhere else. Our wood stove blew large puffs of smoke into the living room everytime the wind blew. So we had to have all the windows open most of the night. We couldn't get the BBQ to light. And although it sleeps 8 there is only comfortable seating for 4, or wooden kitchen chairs that are not so comfortable after hours of being stuck inside.
The chalet itself was nice. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms were bright and roomy. The staff was very friendly and accommodating going back and forth delivering us to and retrieving us from the chalet. We are a group of 7 life long friends and were still able to enjoy being together.
I cannot blame anyone for the weather so would be wiling to give it a chance at redemption and to alter this review. -

(October 12, 2020, 11:25 am)Smith Rock is absolutely beautiful. The drive up to the chalets you instantly start to relax. Upon arrival the staff were kind and very accomodating asking if there was anything they could do for our wedding the next day. This instantly created a relaxed feeling that carried throughout the next day. We were supposed to get married outside however mother nature had other plans. The staff opened the doors to an absolutely beautiful space inside without hesitation offered to set up anything we needed or rearrange anything that we wanted. They gave us privacy and ensured we would not be interrupted. The property provided us with ample opportunity for pictures that were absolutely beautiful.
The chalets were perfect and the view is stunning!! Very clean and cozy.
We cannot wait to return year after year to relax and explore the hiking and biking trails located on the property.
Thank you Smith Rock staff for helping make our special day a memorable one!
