Beautiful park! You can bring your dog for a walk, lots of trails, some paved trails and public washrooms. Outdoor water park, swimming pool, and playground.
I absolutely love going to the park... with friends, with family, in the winter or summer...there is always something to see or do. In the winter the lights around the duck pond near the Peter pan statue are beautiful. In the summer we love the park, splash pad, swimming pool and looking for fairy doors.
Great place for a walk and look at flora and fauna. Lots parking. Dog friendly.
A great park for all ages! Whether an outing with family, a meet with a date or a walk with your dog, this park is great.
Offers seasonal swimming pool, splash pad, washrooms, concession stand, events and holiday decor. Flowers to gaze upon in summer and hills to slide upon in winter.
There are a lot of wide trails to walk around the large park and is wheelchair accessible. The playground is popular with the kids and is wheelchair accessible and made for children of all shapes, sizes and abilities.
The ponds and streams are beautiful and it's a beautiful park for photographs in every season.
Includes a wedding venue and is great for picnics and portrait photography.
Gave 4 stars instead of 5 just because compared to other parks I've visited in Canada it doesn't offer as much as I'd like such as bicycle rentals, dog park, ice rink ect.
It's a lovely park with so many old trees, lots of flowers to look at. There is a reception building and many fields in which to hold events. The summer swimming pool, splash pad, skate park and playground are very nicely upgraded. The park is nice to pass through for a walk or gentle ride on your bike. Be sure to stop by the war memorial, pass along by the river and check out the duck pond to see the resident ducks, geese and pigeons! There is a lovely hill for sliding and xmas lights in the winter!
(709) 364-1531 Bowring Park was a lovely surprise for an evening stroll yesterday! Underrated by locals, this sprawling green space includes a huge duck pond, multiple bridges, forest-covered trails, huge moose statues, community pool, water park, playground...and presumably even more since we stopped before making it the whole way through.
The Bowring Park Foundation was established on April 18, 1995, as a not-for-profit organization under the patronage of Derrick Bowring, a relative of Sir Edgar Bowring. Sir Edgar donated the park land to the City of St. John's in 1911 on behalf of Bowring Brothers Ltd. on their 100th anniversary of commerce in Newfoundland.
It was established on April 18, 1995, to assist the City of St. John's in the restoration and development of Bowring Park. The City and the Foundation partnered on the 2005 Bowring Park Master Plan which sets out a program of recommendations for the upgrading of the park. Phone: (709) 364-1531 E-mail: bpf@bowringpark.com
