Mary Brown's Chicken & Taters

2020 is a strange year to be trying a restaurant out for the first time.
But I have heard good things about Mary Brown's and had a hankering for some good quality fried chicken.
I was feeling too lazy to make my own this time round, and can't stand KFC, so it was off to Mary's.

The restaurant was well set up for social distancing and all the staff were masked up.
I ordered a 9 piece feast (Taters, Mac and Cheese, and a mix of regular recipe and spicy)
I also ordered a Spicy Big Mary chicken sandwich.

Staff was good to deal with and they were very quick with my order.

Smelled great on the drive home.
Demolished the Spicy Big Mary sandwich straight away.
It was juicy and delicious with a good spice level.

9 Piece feast turned out to only be an 8 piece feast unfortunately. 4 regular and 4 spicy pieces.
They were very good though. Juicy, with good batter and the spicy ones had good heat.
Mac and Cheese was decent and the taters were very good.

Worth a try for sure.
I'll go back next time I have a fried chicken itch. (But I might count my chicken pieces before I leave)

To be honest it was okay, better than Kentucky. It was my first time here, I had a chicken sandwich. I'll try something bolder next time and may add a different review.

Our server was extremely friendly. My reason for only 3 stars is she totally forgot our coleslaws for our order and I had to go back up to ask for them once my 85 year old father asked where they were. She also forgot the gravies for the people sitting next to us. She did a great job checking with us a couple of times to make sure everything was ok though.

Always great chicken. I especially love the chicken sandwich special every Monday , they are very filling. They use REAL chicken breast not pressed surprise it's not meat, they always serve the real thing. Far better than KFC. Less greasy. Friendly staff.

I had the spicy buffalo chicken tenders and they were delicious. The perfect amount of spicy to goodness ratio. My mouth watered as I chewed into their famous patato wedges. I got the maple chlli topping sauce. It was a little sweet for my palate but still enjoyed dipping the odd wedge in it.
