Such history about the Acadians and the Scotts and Natives. Shawn, our guide, was extremely knowledgeable. You begin your journey by leaving Nelson on a catamaran for a 5 minute boat crossing to the island. Then your journey through time begins. You can stop at the end of your tour and walk the island and have a picnic if you chose and cross over later in the day. Worth seeing.
Amazing how much the employees know about the island an how much heart the Nelson community has
Visited this site for the first time last week. It was neat to ride in a boat to the island. We hiked the perimeter trail of the island. It isn't difficult but is a good walk. We really enjoyed it. Not a ton to see for artifacts but the natural environment was beautiful. We highly recommend it.
