The guys at Batnuni Lake were awesome! We had a great week in camp! The bear hunting was excellent. We saw double figures in bears each day we were hunting, with several opportunities on stalks each day. I was fortunate enough to harvest two very large black bears.

The hunting was just a part of the entire experience. Camp was set back in a nice quiet place away from any main roads. The cabin was comfortable, food was good, and after a day of hunting there was always a hot shower!

Jim and Lyle are great hosts. I don't think I have ever laughed as hard as I did that week. The guys at Batnuni Lake are down-to-earth people and an absolute blast to be around! I would recommend this FAIR CHASE hunt to anybody!!

Batnuni Lake Outfitters provided me with a superior moose hunt with four others who were in camp. The first day in camp you are treated like family and I never laughed so much on a hunting trip than this one. Every aspect of the hunt was well cared for, wonderful meals, lodging, guides, and great camaraderie between all guides and hunters in camp. The heaviest things I had to carry was my rifle. One hates to leave for you will shortly miss the humor and friendships that was developed while in camp. Five hunters, all from different geographical location, felt like we were part of the family at Batnuni Lake. All shot moose and some are coming back as repeat hunters. I have hunted four continents with many outfitters, this moose camp is at the top of my list. There was nothing missing from this hunt.

Jim and Lyle are the owners and operators of Batnuni Lake Outfitters and I have had the pleasure of successfully hunting with them twice (will be going back a third time).
Jim and Lyle provides a wonderful camp atmosphere that is welcoming and inclusive for both returning hunters and new hunters alike. Their guiding skills are second to none and they will go above and beyond trying to get you in position to put a bear or moose on the ground (making a good shot it's up to you).
Pete, the camp cook is a great guy that makes sure you are well fed (maybe too well) and is always willing to a assist in any way possible.
Value for money - you can't find a better hunt in Canada. As you can tell I'm a big fan of Batnuni Lake outfitters!!!

This review is based on several hunts with Batnuni Lake G and O over the last 10 years. I have always hunted moose (with a mule deer add on).
The reasons I have hunted so often with this outfitter are many. The area they access is enormous with a huge amount of game. The type of hunting is quite variable. We can float a lake one morning, hunt clear cuts that afternoon, and hike to a meadow that evening. The next day can be completely different. Always changing and always fun.
The guides know the area quite well and since the concession is so large, we never see other hunters in the field. Resident pressure is also low.
Because of good management, and no over hunting by the outfitter, moose numbers have always been strong. It is very rare that I have ever witnessed a hunter not getting an opportunity on a 10 day hunt. Hunts are also only during the rut (none are early pre-rut or late). That means the bulls are active, talking, and the hunters chances are greater.
Accomodations are very comfortable with excellent food and a friendly staff at the main camp. Even with lot's of hiking and 14 hours of hunting a day, expect to put on wieght during this hunt. The food is that good!
And of course the moose! I've been lucky to harvest some huge bulls on these hunts. But I've also gone home with small bulls. They've ALL been trophy's (and all been delicious).
So to sum it up, a great staff, comfortable accomodations, a game rich area, and owners/guides who work their tails off to find game for the hunters. These are the reasons I go back to Batnuni Lake G and O. I know it's always hunting and nothing is guaranteed, but my best chance for a bull and a fantastic experience will be at Batnuni.
