Tanlu Grill 探炉烤肉

Food is good, price can be a bit steep but they use charcoal for the grill & also give you side dishes like other Korean bbq restaurants so I can totally justify that based on this and the overall ambiance of the restaurant. Service could be improved (hit-or-miss), there was one waiter with glasses that’s super nice& friendly and another waiter that’s rude&impatient - you can easily tell that he gets annoyed if you ask for anything (water, side dishes etc) and that ruined our whole dining experience.

Very nice BBQ restaurant in Richmond. Good ambiance, well decorated and very clean. The staff are very helpful. The side dishes and sauces are very tasty. The charcoal flavour makes every dish tasted so delicious and authentic. They used different kinds of grill depending on the dish you’ll cook next which is exciting.
The meat and seafood are so fresh, tender and high quality. First time I tried cold noodle and it’s actually very nice and refreshing especially in a hot sunny day. ??❤️
I enjoyed the food very much. Prices are quite reasonable. Overall, the food is excellent. I highly recommend TANLU GRILL!

Definitely a WOOOW place for FOOD and BEER !! I give five stars for every single dishes that I've been tried here. The service is greatly considerate and satisfactory. Price is fair, too. I've brought many friends to try out this restaurant and everyone is so satisfied. The only shortage is that they open at 5pm everyday : (

Make sure you have a reservation. Good charcoal grill restaurant with good and helpful service. Kind of a mix between Korean and Northern Chinese food. We enjoyed the side dishes. The salad dressing they had was really yummy. We ordered the marinated beef, mushroom platter, kimchee pork bone soup, pork belly, pork belly with Chinese sauerkraut.

The charcoal was hot...I had to sit further away as my face was getting burnt...hahaha.
The servers were very good and helpful. They went through the different grilling surfaces they provide depending on the meat you will be cooking. They provided helpful tips on cooking the pork belly and sauerkraut. Their cooking recommendation for cooking the scallops and rice in a shell was spot on. The rice on the edge of the shell had a nice crisp.

Looking forward to my next visit.

What a cool experience to see piller of flame coming out of your grill. Even though it kind of remind me of my money being burned away, it's still very exciting. I'm not sure if having open fire is allowed by the city but who cares. I had fun dining here.
