We had kept Lefebvre's card from 6 years ago when we were considering redoing our beech wood floors. We never went ahead with that job, and ended up selling that house in March 2015. The new home we bought had prefinished 3/4" solid oak floors done with 2 1/2" planks. They were very dark brown with a high gloss finish. They had to go!!
So we contacted Ed Lefebvre again and hired him to do the job. The floors turned out beautiful. They were sanded down to bare wood, stained lighter and finished with a satin finish. They are now a light honey oak with a touch of cherry. The color was mixed according to our taste and actually applied to the sanded floor in one area of a room, along with other colors we were considering, so we could see how the new color would look when finished.The sample stains are then all sanded off and the chosen color applied. The finish we chose was satin - no more high gloss. We can't say enough about how great they now look. Ed works long, solid days and definitely is a pro. And his wife Rita is always great to deal with too. We would absolutely recommend him to anyone wanting to re-finish their floors. And yes.............it is dustless !!!
Look no further.. if you're located in Vancouver or Greater Vancouver call Ed or Rita. Our home is located in Mount Pleasant in East Vancouver. Built in 1940's with oak floors on the main floor and carpets in the main floor bedrooms. One day I grabbed a corner of the bedroom carpet and tore it up to see what was underneath.. I saw wood. But didn't know if it would/could look like the already finished floors in living area. I took the risk and tore it all out.. what I saw was some very old oak floors that might look like the rest of the house???? Well, I called Rita/Ed as they were recommended by a guy I know in the carpet business. Ed came over and gave me a quote for the work.. it was about the same as if we were to replace the carpets. Well.. when he was done, the floors look AMAZING! And now I want to have the rest of the main floor redone (don't have a clue when they were completed).
Now, as for the dustless.. I'm sure you are like me.. sceptical of how dustless dustless really is. What can I say.. it's dustless!!!! We left my wife's clothes in the closet for crying out loud and there's NO dust on them.
