A playing field, tennis and basketball courts, and a grassy area with playground and wading pool are separated by tree-lined walkways and stepped plantings. This is a good place to visit if you want to relax in the shade, play a game of tennis, or push your kids on the swings. This park was one of the first areas set aside for parkland in the former municipality of South Vancouver (several different municipalities were amalgamated into the City of Vancouver in 1929). The park was named for William John Brewer, the first reeve of South Vancouver at the time of its incorporation in 1892.
