  Hidden dumpling place behind Ironwood which is now pretty well known. When first opened we would dine and be the only guests. The owner was the server and chef. Word is out and they are now busier which is great as that means it will stick around longer. Have had most of the menu and everything is incredibly delicious. The soup dumplings are far better than any I've had at typical chain big dumpling places around town. The owner pays each table a visit to make sure your food is delicious. She's very passionate about her cooking and she lets you know about it if you ask!

  Came for lunch with coworker. Xiaolongbao is a must! The dumpling is pretty awesome too. Got this spicy tofu string for appetizer and it is a bit spicy. I like how water is self served here! So what you see on the picture + another rack of xiaolongbao is about $40.

  Interesting concept of a restaurant. You walk in, greeted by a sign that instructs you to pick up your menu and seat yourself. You mark your orders on the menu and pay at the counter. Food was decent, but nothing exceptional. Reasonably priced, although I was hesitant to include any tips as there was absolutely no service.

  I don't usually give 5 stars, but the pan fried dumplings are great. Good flavour, nice skin, and well cooked! This place is a gem by ironwood in the industrial area. If you're here and like dumplings, you should give this place a try!

  Honestly, the best food I've had a very long time! This place is a true food gem in the middle of an industrial area in Richmond. I went in at around 5pm on a Saturday and the place was literally empty because we had just missed the lunch rush and it was before the dinner rush (lots of people started to come in at around 6:30pm). I loved the empty restaurant though because we got special attention from Mama herself - such a sweet lady! Let me tell y'all about the food - O.M.G. Absolutely incredible (I mean, just look at the pics!). We had the pan-fried egg, shrimp, and chives dumplings and they were delicious. The green beans were also absolutely out-of-this-world. Perfectly seasoned and cooked. The Shanghai noodles and the fried rice were also very good! Aside from the bomb food, the environment was clean and inviting. Even the washrooms were super nice and fancy! The only downside is that Mama's is closed on Sundays, but I suppose the staff deserve a break. I would HIGHLY recommend this place to everyone!! I can't wait to go back.
