I take my cats and dogs here and the staff have always been very friendly and know how to treat and care for my beloved fur babies.
My dog was promptly helped with intravenous fluids, etc. for a gastrointestinal issue and had his undescended testicle removed with no issue. Her husband is very good at helping to lift my large dog and help to the car.
I have found that long as I do the blood & urine tests and ultrasounds, etc. that are recommended by a veterinarian, many issues can be much easier resolved.

I've been bringing my animals here for quite some time now. I can't say enough good things about this clinic. Highly recommend!

Because facts matter, I need to write this. I was there when Ms Underhill had her kitty in the clinic. It is so hard when one's beloved pet is at their end. I have been there with my own sweet kitty, Miya, so I know. The vet who so compassionately cared for her and gave her (and me) such comfort when her time ran out, was Dr Mandy Simk. I can vouch for her caring and unselfish nature. And I know firsthand that she would not try to make money by needlessly letting an animal suffer. It is also not fair to expect that a vet should be on call 24/7. The fact that she even answers the phone after hours shows her caring attitude.
The day Ms Underhill is referring to was a very busy Friday afternoon (4 days ago) in the clinic. There were patients in each consulting room and myself and another in the waiting room. Dr Mandy had just returned from picking up her daughter at pre-school (being a working mom is tough!) and was trying very hard to give all her patients and their owners the attention they needed. She was indeed “in the back” but actually very busy! My doggy, Bella, needed blood samples drawn at set times for a test - and not being very cooperative. I was helping to hold her so that Corinne, the VOA, could deal with Ms Underhill and other owners at the front desk. It’s easy to incorrectly assume people are uncaring when they are, in fact, doing their best to cope with a lot of demands. Since Ms Underhill was there to deal with an administrative matter, I much prefer that Dr Simk gave her attention to my distressed little doggy and allowed Corinne to attend to Ms Underhill as best she could. Another vet could not have handled it differently under the same circumstances.
Ms Underhill, I am very sorry for your loss, but please be fair. All the best to you.

I've been coming to Parkgate Animal Hospital for roughly 5 years now and I have never had a bad experience. Dr. Simk has taken care of my family pets every time that I've needed her to see them, whether it was an emergency or an annual visit. She has always been so accommodating with all of my animals, she has even taken them in when the clinic was clearly busy and she could have turned us away but instead she finished with her appointments in a timely fashion and then took great care of my pets. I've had animals with diabetes, kidney failure, behavioral issues, and more. She has always provided me and my family with her knowledge, suggested course of treatments, and kindness and sympathy in more difficult situations. I've had to say goodbye to a lot of pets and every single time she has been so helpful in making not only me, but my pets comfortable as well. The weeks to follow are always the hardest when you've recently lost a pet and Dr. Simk and her staff would always see how I was doing when I would walk by the clinic or when I stopped in to say hello. Not only did they care about my family's well being, they went above and beyond and provided handwritten sympathy cards roughly 2 weeks later that turned a terrible situation into something more positive with loving notes about my pets. I know this review may seem long but I can't help but praise this clinic for all they have done for me and my pets. I would highly recommend this clinic to anybody looking for a veterinarian as I can guarantee (from experience at other animal hospitals) that you will not find better care, kindness, sympathy, and more affordable prices. She has never pushed a treatment on me and has never made me feel like I am paying for anything that wouldn't be necessary. Dr. Simk will treat and care about your animal as if it were her own. Thank you Parkgate for always taking great care of us!!

The condition of the hospital is very decent, always clean and tidy. Dr. Simk never loses her smile and gives her best to heal every patient. Her husband shows up sometimes for assisting, and he is also nice. It is definitely a good decision to bring your pets to this place!!
