(October 26, 2018, 2:33 pm)My 94 year old grandmother wasn’t doing well in assisted living and needed round the clock care. She actually perked up quite a bit after moving to Royal City Manor.
About a month after she went in, my grandfather had a stroke and was left physically incapacitated, so he was also moved to Royal City Manor. Because he was still cognitively in tact he was miserable having to be dependant for every day care so he decided to pursue medical assistance in dying.
I flew in from Ontario to be with him and my extended family during this difficult time and I can’t say enough good things about the staff. They were beyond empathetic and offered hugs and sympathy to all of us. They even allowed us a private lunch in the tea room prior to grandpa’s procedure.
The staff truly embraced our family and treated us as their own. It’s a relief to know that my grandma has such wonderful people looking after her now that grandpa is gone.
